The past couple of days when I log in and go to "new/updated posts" (sorry don't know the exact terminology) once I view a thread and go back to Forum posts, I have been logged out and have t
log in again. I am using an iPad Air 2 and getting more than a bit annoyed. Gave been a member fir a week or so and this has happened the last day or two.
Have you recently updated your operating system to iOS 9, iOS9.1 or iOS 9.2? People who have are experiencing a myriad of problems. Being logged out might be one of them if you have updated your operating system. I'm using an iPad with iOS 8 & have had no logout problems.
Yes, that may well be the problem, Woko. I'll just have to bear with it I guess.

Hi Swisslulu, I have always had this problem with Safari, sometimes if you switch between threads, you are still logged in (seems to appear logged out on the forum menu, but when you return to threads, you may still be logged in). It is the same on my MacBook.
I use Chrome on the iPad and don't have any issues with log outs, but do have issues with Chrome "jamming" or closing unexpectedly from time to time.
Admin will be away over the weekend (? Long weekend in Sydney), but I think it is an issue with Safari, rather that a site problem (could be wrong), I am sure Holly will refer it to the tech guys. I thought it was only me!
Edited - currently use the latest iOS so that is not the issue!

Have just double checked, gives the "logged out appearance" in the main forum menu, but when I go into Best Photos, I am still actually logged in. Weird!

Thanks Dale. I have just tested this again and it is as you describe. I appear to be logged out but when I go to another thread I am logged in. My problem is that when I appear logged out I no longer get the "new & updated topics" option. Is this forum available on Tapatalk? I use that App for the other forums I am a member of but have not been able to find this one there.

Well, that happens from time to time.It has never bothered me, but then again , I don't mind spending a few seconds to log in again.
Modern technology makes some people impatient.

Never heard of Tapatalk, will be something for admin to look at I suggest. I will PM Holly to highlight this thread to her. Again will, have to wait until next week for answers. I usually look at the time of the last post for each thread, and try and remember how long it has been since I looked.

Hi Swisslulu, I've had a similar problem in the past when using a tablet or smartphone (android) and have found that regularly clearing your cache memory (daily) seems to fix the problem - a tablet or smartphone cache fills very quickly because of a much smaller RAM than say a desktop PC and can "confuse" your tablet and make it show old or outdated pages that it has stored. This may not help/be your problem, but maybe worth a try? :-)

Araminta, I'm not particularly impatient but I do get annoyed when things don't operate as they should.
Annie W, I was not aware that iToys had accessible cache. I certainly know of the issue with conventional Windows operating systems but as far as I know, there is no such thing with Apple iOS. Happy to be corrected.

I'm pretty sure you should be able to clear browser cache with any device that can access the web. I went for a little google hunt and found below for you - on my browser when the page opens, it stays virtually blank except for a header, but eventually a small tutorial does pops up (hope I got your device details right) - good luck!

Thanks for posting that link Annie W. I have gone through the process and so far, so good. Thanks again for your help.

Well, lulu, aren't you glad not to live where I live then. I live in a "black spot", I don't even have mobile reception. PC work very slowly, but from time to time not at all. Just like living in a 3 world country. Not true, I have friends in a refugee camp in Syria. They have better reception than me. Thanks Telstra.

Your welcome Swisslulu, thought it was worth a try, at the least it might even speed up other internet browsing anyway. Hope it is sorted fully for you soon, things that should work but don't, I find very frustrating :-D!
