Yes Zosterops. I have a copy of The Field Guide to the Birds of Australia by Pizzey and Knight. As a beginner I do often scan from the first page to the last to look for a match of bird picture. Hopefully this will be better once I know more about diffrent groupings and different families of birds.
That is a White-faced Heron.
I'll second that!

Sounds like you're really getting into it, tracviet. Good on you!
I begin to enjoy watching birds more, very interesting pursuit and relax time. Thanks Woko.
have you invested in a bird field guide by any chance, tracviet?
they can be most useful for identification and have interesting facts about the birds themselves and their habits.

good book choice, tracviet
i find once you are familiar with the common birds of your area more unusual species tend to stick out.
