Went out to my reliable spot for them and had some success. I really wish they would stand where there is some light to keep the ISO down.

There were Rufous Fantail around but dipped on a good pic of them but the Rose Robin were friendly.

Great photos in really difficult lighting!

You managed to get some good detail in all these shots. That would have been another two more ticks for me.

Thanks Ryu and Reflex.

You've got some superb shots of one of my favourite bird species, Rose Robins! ...Like Ryu and Reflex said the pictures have good lighting for such poor light conditions and they are detailed really well.

Nice detail considering the poor light. I tried to photograph some logrunners last week in the rainforest and couldnt get anything nearly as good as this. Well done.

Very nice photos ... i have never seen a pilot bird. Lovely ones of the rose robins.
Another set of beauties Shorty.
Fill flash maybe for the conditions?
Great shots shorty! The Pilot Bird would be a newby for me. Good point Rick, fill flash can help if you know how to use it. Therefore I don't lol as I haven't figured out how to avoid steel eye.
Thanks everyone,
Rick, i have used flash a few times but not a fan. I should really take my monopod and could drop the ss a bit more. I took these at 100 but with a pod could drop it a lot lower but would need the bird not to move :)
Devster, sounds like you and Reflex need to go south if you want one of these, i know a good spot ;)
