Wow so yesterday's thread has disappeared. We are looking at what has gone wrong but in the mean time, lets start again in case we cant retrieve the original post...
A reminder - mystery birds.
- The first poster posts either a whole bird or part of a bird (eye, feather close up etc)
- Subsequent posters have to try to ID the mystery bird
- The first person to guess correctly gets to post the next mystery bird
Once you have posted a mystery bird, be sure to check in regularly to see if someone guesses correctly.
I will update you all when I find out what has happened to our disappearing posts.
Did someone get Ricks Pacific Black Duck one?
No it looks like that one was still open - the last guess was Pacific Black Duck and we havent heard from Rick about whether it was correct...
I cant find the original photo Rick posted so lets start with a new mystery bird and hopefully we can come back to it
That was my guess late last night. A bit later than Rick's bedtime by the looks! If we're assuming the guess was correct, shall I post a new one?

By the size of that foot, I would say it is a black swan.
It easily could have been, but not quite!

Ah yes, I know now. Do I have to wait for others guess before I can guess again?
Here I'll take a guess. Maybe is it a Mute Swan? (I actually have two guesses, it's quite hard to pick which answer)
M.M.
Not a mute swan. We'll be kicking ourselves when we get it. The answer is afoot!
