Just wondering how I manage to stop all new threads being emailed to me.
I check the site nearly everyday anyway and its just clogging up my email.
I'm still happy for newsletters etc.
I'm sure it's just a click of a button but I can't seem to work it out.

Very good point, Devster, I know I would like that too- so I had a look, and I think I have worked it out. Click on my account at the top of the page and go into the edit tab. Scroll down and you will find the below option:
"Comment follow-up notification settings
Receive content follow-up notification e-mails
Check this box to receive an e-mail notification for follow-ups on your content. You can not disable notifications for individual threads.
Receive comment follow-up notification e-mailsNo notificationsAll commentsReplies to my comment
Check this box to receive e-mail notification for follow-up comments to comments you posted. You can later disable this on a post-by-post basis... so if you leave this to YES, you can still disable follow-up notifications for comments you don't want follow-up mails anymore - i.e. for very popular posts."
I know I will be unchecking this as it is easier to check through the website rather than email

If you look above the box that you type your message there is a "Notify me when new comments are posted" .
un-check this before posting.

I selected no notifications under the "Receive comment follow-up notification e-mails"

I'll have to look at it again as I am still getting notifications.
Same. I seem to still be getting some of them. I've checked the settings which are as follows, and seems to be all right. Holly, could you look into it?

Hi guys
So the way to stop all notifications is to do as above, go to 'My Account', click 'edit' and then scroll down to the comments and notifications section and unselect the 'receive notification emails'. This is supposed to stop any emails you get. Also select the 'no notifications' in the box below.
Have you guys tried this and find you are still getting emails? It may take a few hours for the change to come into effect.
If they are still coming through (or some of them), I will get the web support guys on to it - but let me know if it is all threads you comment in or just some - and if it is just some, are they new threads (post selecting that box) or old threads (from before you made that selection).

It seems to be just the old threads, actually. The email alerts are becoming much fewer now
