Fabulous captions last week guys and funny photos. They made me laugh!
In celebration of the 29th of Feb, I thought we would have a 'leap' theme - there are unlikely to be many specific leap shots though so lets go with any action photos you have.

Sorry it's so crap, this is my first flight shot! Silvergulls and big, slow moving birds (such as this pelican) are the best for practising!

Another Cracker Shorty. Rick, looks like he has you in his sights. This Corella was leaping at his mate.
A young bird must be able to manage to fly successfully on its first attempt, or it will crash to the ground. That's got to be a huge leap of faith in it's own ability.

Shorty, howd you manage to get a snipe out in the oopen like that. We have one around the dam next to my work and I can never see it before it flushes. It's always deep in the greass.
Some Stilts coming in to land.
Devster,
When the Snipe first arrive here they are quite shy but by November they settle down and we get them out in the open a lot. I have even seen one about 20 metres up a tree. Here is a link to an album on my FlickR with some of the many hundreds of shots i have taken.

Some of the aerobatics these birds perform in the form of loops, rolls, and other feats of spectacular flying to attract mates is nothing short of spectacular!
