By way of introduction to this topic, we were given a chinese knockoff of an established wildlife cam manufacturer. Despite this possibly negative introduction we have been fairly pleased with the few times we have left it to the elements, recording whatever (including a huge lizard and a wallaby as well as birds).
So, we are ready to move on to a perhaps better version of this type of camera if such an animal exists (and will donate ours to the local school should we upgrade).
Any recommendations? Or should we just stick with what we have?
What do we want? A motion triggered camera that we can leave in position for several weeks, with good resolution and battery life. We were thrilled with our current cam to capture a Black Fronted Button Quail (photo a bit dodgy but hey we have it!)
Any sugestions and recommendations will of course be received greatfully.

Tim,
Interested in this myself and don't want to outlay a heap of money for great resolution as I am only really interested in what may turn up at particular times. What brand camera and would you be able to post some of your images?
PM me if you like.
Cheers Rick
Yes, sorry should have posted some pix. The cmera is a "no-name" - literally - but looks like one of the "litl acorn" 5511 cams.
Black Breasted Button-Quail
yes the old brisbane brush turkey!
OK, are we upset with this cam? No, as we have seen the BBBQ - and subsequently in real life which is somewhat better! Are we after a better motion trigger and resoulution? Yes possibly if the price is right.
Thanks Rob,
What is the first bird?
It's a wonga.
