I know this is not much to go on, but i saw a group of really small birds, flying very quickly, darting about, gliding then flapping, not calling at all. It was hard to see them or colours but I think brown and white. They were much smaller than a noisy miner.
I haven't noticed them before, it was in a built up park, sydney inner west. I tried to get photos but they were too fast.
Thank you

Very possibly, thank you. I don't here of swallows much on here or generally.
They also had a noticeable shape when they were gliding with their wings back,(like a torpedoe perhaps?)

Yes, that makes me think of welcome swallows too (or perhaps Tree or Fairy Martins).
They are often seen zippping around open spaces like parks or sports fields, especially where water is available nearby.
Fairy Martins will often be found around drains and culverts as they often nest on the ceilings.

Thanks for the help. I don't know why i hadn't noticed them before, maybe mistaken them for something else.
