Small brown bird identification-I need help

A tiny brown and grey bird with a golden coloured wing marking has been frequenting my garden lately. It is very curious and not at all afraid of me. It approaches me and watches me as I move around. It reminds me of the shape of a robin and I've taken some photos of it. I need help to identify it. It's not in the bird finder and I can't find it in my bird books. Can anyone suggest what to do please?

Information about location, habitat & where in the vegetation structure can often help in identifying birds, Joanne. Can you provide more information & are you able to post a photo or two?

Oops! Done! That looks rather like a female Flame Robin.

I've posted the photos I think. I can see them but maybe you not able to? I live in the bend of a river with lots of native trees a bushes and scrub . In Sunbury, Victoria.

I thought it looked like some kind of robin, but I've lived in this place for 20 years and I've never seen any kind of male robin at all. I really have thought that it looks like a female robin before. The thing that's made me feel I was wrong is the fact that I've never seen a male. Are they more wary and shy?

I think Sunbury is part of the Flame Robin range so we're on track. Someone from your neck of the woods might have an opinion.

It is definately a Robin from the visible wing markings in pics 3 & 4. Hard to say with certainity which species with the poor resolution  and without actually being there to get the overall picture of the habitat which is often a good indicator, but Flame seems like a decent possibility. Maybe look out for a male, there is quite likely to be one

I've discovered it's definitely a female Pink Robin. The golden flash on the wings and the tail with no white in it. Thankyou for helping me.

Good one, Joanne. Great that you've been able to track it down. I'm interested to learn what might be attracting it to your garden, not to mention your trike/bike/cart. It seems you might have the right habitat. If so, there may be other robins in your area. Eyes peeled!

With luck you might see the male with the bright pink chest.
