Have had a new visitor to my backyard in the last week (Lewin's Honeyeater), hopefully they will become regulars if the other birds don't continue to chase them away. Also decided to go for a drive today and finished up at a small rainforest remnant near to where I live. We were just about to leave when a couple of Eastern Yellow Robins decided to pose. Then I heard a noise in the undergrowth and discovered a Noisy Pitta.

Great stuff and good on you Brian
i love that first eastern yellow robin shot
perfect pose
Dont take life too seriously, it never ends well
How marvelous to have some precious remnant rainforest close to where you live, Brian. Guard it vigorously!
It certainly is Woko, there are a few remnants of the "Big Scrub" here in the Northern Rivers. Most are protected and like the one I visited today have Aboriginal cultural significance as well.

Great work, Brian. Would love to see a pitta

Thanks Ryu, my first pitta sighting, not easy to photograph in the rainforest undergrowth. Took about a dozen shots and only got one useable photo, extraordinary colours. At least I know where to look for them now.

Nice shots and finds, I would love to see a Noisy Pitta too. Awesome for you to have a Lewins in your garden.
Well done getting 3 new species. While the Lewins Honeyeater is nice to see first time, they can be down right rat-bags, chasing everything else away. Robins are very photogenic and great for practice. A Noisy Pitta, I love these guys. Their classic 'walk to work' like call and their beautiful colours. You are right they are very hard to photograph, but worth it when you get a shot.
The Noisy Pitta has such beautiful colours.

Interesting you say that about the Lewin's Honeyeater as so far in the short time they have been coming around every other bird has chased them out of the yard. Looking forward to getting more shots of the Noisy Pitta now I know where to find them.
