Just this morning I woke to the sound of the distinctive whip crack just outside our bedroom window, went downstairs to see and the male was tapping at the kitchen Window for insects, he jumped down, gave his loud whip call and his female replied a short distance away. I've never seen them so close before and I've lived in Northern NSW and now in the Blue Mountains near Sydney.
