I work in Samford and on lunch breaks I often walk araound with my camera looking for photo opportunites. The adjoining property also allows me to walk around their bigger dam and back area. Here are a few I managed to get photos of in the last couple of days. I was hearing the Fantail Cuckoos and the White-Throated Gerygones calling, but do you think I could find the blighters.
Spring is here.
Brown Goshawk - Really bad pic as the sun was behind the bird and it has been very cropped.
BG in nest - Same as before - bad light
Little Black Cormorant - There is always a couple of these guys sunning themselves. Little Pied Cormorants are often seen with them.
Could hear these Scarlet Honeyeater but it took a while for them to come into range where I could get some decent pics. Looks like young males colouring up.
My Favourite birds here - The Forest Kingfisher. There is about 3 of these little guys around. I often get distracted by watching them out my window at work.
Fantastic shots Dev
I would take a so called poor quality shot of BG any day of the week :)
Love the duckling convoy and F/Kingfisher is a new one for me
Dont take life too seriously, it never ends well
Great work environment, Devster!
Trying to decide if that BG is staring or glaring - its a very enigmatic, like the Mona Lisa's smile. Id also be very happy with that shot, you got a lot od detail in the barring of the underparts.
Great set of shots and variety for a lunch time walk - beautiful forest kingfisher.
Lovely set Devon...
Ron.
Great place to work!

Aiming for DSLR-quality shots with a bridge camera
It sure is Woko . . .Its sure is!
I think I startled it as it was by absolute fluke I found it. I think it was watching me saying "Nothing to see hear, please move along" I only got a few pics of it and the nest and left it alone. The Kingfisher is my fav!
Thanks Iaza. I am very blessed to have them at work
Yes I am very blessed. The people are good to work for as well.
Thanks Ron
I think it's a Sparrowhawk with that long middle toe.
... definitely a stare not a glare then
