Bought a new-second hand lens, a 150 - 500 mm telephoto, and took it out this afternoon for a test run at Gold Coast Botanic Gardens. Took all the usual suspects and overall happy with my first attempt.

Very nice variety of shots, looking forward to seeing more with the new lens.
Glossy Ibis is my favourite.
Nice stuff mate
Roughly what sort of distances were you from the subjects?
Dont take life too seriously, it never ends well
Cheers Rick N. Hope to keep on improving!
Cheers laza. Probably 10 to 15 metres for most, so fairly close. The Jacana about 18 metres, so that shot is heavily cropped.
Great purchase. These are wonderful photos. Well done!
Ooh, Jacana and Glossy Ibis! I so want to see those

Good stuff
I really need to see one of those Glossy Ibis in the flesh

Great shots, looks like a good result. Sounds like it was a good purchase.
I too love the Glossy's. The Jacanas are smaller than you first think and are usually quite shy.
Great work. Looking forward to some more
