Down at Collie River mouth and couldnt believe my luck again.
So far this year in this small area I have sighted WB S/Eagle, Osprey,W/Kite, BSK, N/Kestrel
Goshawk/Sparrowhawk(??) and now my favourite raptor; Peregine Falcon.
Would have loved to have snapped him at lower altitude but he was heading high into the sky on a hunting trip.
Plus a few of locals, my wannabe arty side was very happy to get the mirror image with the Spoonbill
Great shots laza. Raptors are something else ... and the Peregine is at the top of the tree for me. Thanks for sharing.
What a good one to get- you sure are spoilt for raptors there.

Great photos - lovely PF against that blue sky, and very sharp oyster catcher.
Thanks for the kind words guys
Seven is pretty good on one day Shorty, five is my best at that site :)

Hi Laza, I work in the port and see the Peregrines nearly every day at work. They are magnicant birds. You'll will get a few more species yet to add to your raptor list. Little Eagles are common and the occansional Swamp Harrier gets around. Spotted both of these species last week.
We normally have at least two pairs of Kestrels nesting around site this time of year.
Great phots by the way, I used to keep Western Spinebills and the Red Winged Wrens in aviaries years ao. The Spinebill has that unmistakable sound when flying, and the Red Wings are very shy. Thought you might have seen soom Red Ears down tha way?

Thats interesting, no joy with Red ears. Though I saw them earlier in the year near Walpole. There suppose to be a few up in Collie hills near Honeymoon Pool as well but no joy for me there either.
I have seen a few Peregrines around Bunbury but its been a couple of years since Ive spotted a Little Eagle. There was a pair near Bussell Hwy near College Grove (see attached pix) and also up at Kemberton but I havent seen them for a while either .
Ive only seen a Harrier once in paddocks near Raymond Rd but alas driving and no camera.
I have to keep my eye next time im around Turkey point
Thanks

Wow, thats a great photo, I actually saw a Little Eagle at work yesterday but had no joy with the Peregrines. I think the Littles and a lot of the Whistling Kites at work come from the Buffalo / Belvidere Tuart Forest. I'm in Stratham next to the Tuart National Park and occansionaly get Littles here.
I have seen Red ears between Honeymoon Pool and the Welly Dam while Marroning before.
