Over the last month or so we have been visited by a pair of blue faced honeyeaters. They nested in a Palm down the road and I have seen at least 1 fledgling. They are still around as I hear their distinctive calls. Information I've researched indicates that our area is not generally in their range i.e Penrith and surrounds NSW. Does anyone know if their range is expanding
my book (slater) shows they have a very wide range over eastern and northern australia.
They seem to like palms and palms are used a lot in landscaping.

I had a look at the ebird distribution map and it appears that that part of Sydney is the southernmost point where they occur along the coast
