Hello,
My house is being woken up by this VERY LOUD bird call every morning between 5.15am and 5.45am in Melbourne, Victoria. The audio was taken from inside my house. Please could anyone help identify it? The bird makes this sound, then has a break, then sounds again, in this pattern for the entire 30minutes. Anyone have any insight to this?
Thanks for your help!
Sounds like a Guinea Fowl to me
Thank you Devster but it can't be a guinea fowl as it's only a small bird (smaller than a pigeon) that sits on the power lines each morning.

I also thought it could be a wattlebird. Not exactly the same as mine here in Qld, but similar.
That definitely sounds like a Red Wattlebird to me. They make different calls depending on whether they are breeding or not. I can clearly hear the raspy voice of the Red Wattlebird. We have them here in Tenterfield, northern NSW.
I'm at Tenterfield, NSW. (Formerly known as "Hyperbirds".)
I think you're right- Wattlebird! Thanks so much for your help everyone!
