Hi everyone!
I hope you all had a restful and fantastically bird-filled holiday!! It's my first day back after a little break and I am spending much of it catching up on all those pesky emails. I really enjoyed seeing all your "glittery" bird posts over the last few weeks and so thought that since I've missed out on years of amazing photo challenges, wouldn't it be fantastic (and just a little bit selfish, haha) to see your best shots from 2016 - so here are the rules for the "Year in Review 2016":
- Post by month, in order from Jan-Dec. When we get to the end, start again at Jan!
- Choose your best shot from the month we are up to, or a photo that represents that month best
- Wait two turns before sharing another photo
- Don't forget to tell us why you love that photo or why you chose it for that month
Let's leave this challenge running for a few weeks again. Since I'm part-time, I'll probably drop down the challenges to fortnightly for a little while and see how we go. Plus that means more time for you to get your best shots up and more opportunity for the rest of us to ooooh and aaaaaah! I've been very impressed so far :)
I'm really looking forward to seeing your best shots from 2016!!
Monica
That means that I can't post any photos yet, I have only come back recently.

Hi Araminta - just go ahead and post something from any year then (and let us know when you took the shot or why you chose it for that month). We wouldn't want you to miss out :) I'd just love to see what you come up with for each month more than anything!
January 2016 was quite a wet month in SE Queensland.

I have a few I like in April 2016.
I chose this as this DBF flew in while I was taking photos of a Flycatcher, looked at me, then took off again.
He was in and out so fast I couldn't believe I actually got a decent photo of him.
The photo was also taken at a property in Kennilworth where we camped a lot as kids.
My dad has a cabin there which we go to from time to time.
May 2016 was a great month for me. I was lucky enough to be part of the double header (Saturday and Sunday) Pelagic trip out of Eaglehawk Neck in Tasmania.
