Hi everyone,
It's time to get excited because next week is National Bird Week! There is so much happening, including the 4th annual Aussie Backyard Bird Count. So the theme from now until the end of October will be backyard birds.
And even more exciting: the lovely Holly will be re-joining us mid-November after a year of parental leave. So you'll have two part-time, exahausted, but enthusiastic bird-loving mums cheering you on instead of just the one :) Photo challenges will be going to monthly ones, which means more time to get your best images up!
In the meantime, happy snapping! BIRD WEEK, WOOO!

I was thinking the same thing Ryu. I looked at the photo first and said Golden Whistler as I always try to identify first before looking so I can improve. Then when Rob had Brown Gerygone, I thought that's not right it's a Golden Whistler.
I thought female at first but with those rufous coverts it's definitely a youngen.
Rob I forgot to mention that I loved the photo of the young Golden. Love the way the green background really makes the bird stand out.
