Hey just found a pair of spotted pardalote digging a hole under my tree in my backyard just looking for any suggestions to make them feel more welcome I was less than 1m away from them when I spotted them they carried on while I sat there with a beer is that normal
Lucky you, I think if it was me, I would do not very much at all. Perhaps be considerate when near that area, sit back relax and enjoy the experience. Perhaps you could look at planting some "indigenous" plants to your area, but if they're already digging a nest site, they must be happy with the current surrounds.
Keep us posted on how they fare.

Yeah sweet I’ll put some photos up, I’ll look into the plants any suggestions
Not sure where your from, have a look at the local nurseries, maybe there are some who specialise in natives, maybe even a google search of plants found in your area. Have a look at any areas of natural bushland near your place. Sorry can't be more specific.

It seems they're quite welcome already, Pete.
I agree with Dale's suggestion that you aim for establishing indigenous native vegetation. I.e., the vegetation that once grew naturally where you sit drinking your beer. The Spotted Pardalotes as well as a host of other native birds have evolved with that vegetation over millions of years so as well as the Pardalotes you'll attract a range of other native birds which either live or once lived in your neighbourhood.
