long time bird watcher first time poster.
I've had a Powerful Owl hanging around my place for a well over a year now.
Ive watched him eating various possums, birds and lorikeets. I usually see it 3 or 4 times a week.
Last night I came eye to eye with him and we just watched each other for 5 mins until he flew off
Ill try and get some photos and post soon..

You will probably find you will be able to watch him longer if you use a red light.
If you don't have on then just put some red celphane over the end of your torch.
Could you tell if it was male or female?

Im not sure if male or female.
Always eats in the same tree on the same perch.
I almost have the torch on it but will try the celphane.
Have watched it for up to 20 mins at a time.
Havent been able to find it for a weeks now.
Usually it drops bits and pieces of its dinner on the ground. Rainbow lorrikeets, Ringtailed possums and stuff like that.
