I was in the park at Beenleigh, SEQ, and saw a white speck 80 metres away in a gum tree. This is the best my 40D and 400mm could do.
Any ideas? (Just my luck if it turns out to be a pigeon).

I was wondering if it may be a Letter Winged Kite, can't quite see the detail of the beak or wings, but the black eye marking might be close. Certainly not an expert, hopefully someone may be more positive.

It didn't strike me as a very large bird, but it was a long way off. Thanks for replying.
I'd say LW Kite too. Can never be 100% with indistinct photos, though I have plenty of practice in that regard!
LW Kites aren't a large Raptor, being around 30cm.
It appears to be a young Black-faced Cuckoo-shrike. I say definitely not a Letter-winged Kite or a Black-shouldered Kite, it's the wrong shape for them, & if it was either of them you would be able to see their black shoulder in this photo.
