heres several pics of local woodswallows from the Parrakie area in the southern mallee of S.A
the first is i believe a dusky woodswallow then a masked woodswallow the last pic has a white eyebrow and different markings, any help with an ID would be great, is it a young dusky woodswallow? or a different type of woodswallow
Thanks Matthew
Nice photos Matt. My guide would indicate the 3rd to be a White Browed Woodswallow, with the others as you have identified, Dusky and Masked respectively.
As always, not an expert, and happy to be corrected, I'm still learning to!

The last is a female White-browed Woodswallow, I believe.
2nd black faced wood swallow.
Wimmera mally region, Vic.
Sorry Lightuningbird, I have to disagree, the Black Faced Woodswallow only has black around the eye, and lacks the white line visible between the "Mask" and the grey of the neck.
The bird in 2nd photo is a Masked Woodswallow.
According to the Micheal Morcombe eGuide to Australian Birds, the bird in the photo will be a male. It appears the female may be difficult to seperate from the Black Faced adult.
Trying not to be too critical, I think we are all just learning, and if we can indicate why we are leaning one way or the other it adds to our knowledge.
