golden carp

Large golden carp are very active at the Jerrabomberra wetlands due to the recent rain.  Do Pelicans eat carp?  There seem to be more carp than the pelicans can eat.  We are not winning the war on golden carp are we?

Unfortunately, they are not golden carp just common carp!  And a pest as they eat our native fish.

I think the big problem with carp is that they stir up the bottom of the river or lake & make it difficult for other biota to survive.

That's just animal nature.

I take it, then, you have no concerns that feral species like carp contribute significantly to the extinction of native species thereby sigificantly altering ecological systems &, in the long run, putting Homo sapiens at risk of extinction.
