This eagle flew over the park in Beenleigh this morning with a bird in its claws.
Any idea what the victim was?

Not much to go on. The feet look something like a coot or native hen/swamp hen type but really only a guess. Nice work with some great photos.

Agree with Dale. Not much left of the body. Going by the reddish-brown undertail feathers most likely Pale-vented bush- hen.

There was some photos I saw somewhere of Masked Lapwing chicks, and the feet looked a lot like that, but they look too big for chicks, maybe adult lapwings?
