We have a pair of satin bowerbirds that like to bath in our dogs' pool. My husband took these images today, and I don't think they look like the female. I've pulled them from a video, which I couldn't get to upload, so they're not great.
But there's a really definite black 'V' on the back of this bird.
Agree, it looks to me like an immature male Satin Bowerbird going into adult plumage.
Agree, the white beak is also another indicator he's a boy. Congrats
Thank you both for replying. And to add to Mum, Dad, and this one ^ there were four more females or juveniles having baths at the end of last week. I read up on satin bower birds, and apparently this time of year, females and juveniles congregate in groups. Then, once August wanders around, the boys head off to make their bowers and attempt to attract a lady or two.
