This guy lives by my place, I've been 'after' him/her (?) for the past 6mths and was never able to get a nice clean shot. I believe it is a wattle bird. Anyway, in the failing light of late afternoon I saw it flitting from shrub to shrub across the road.
A nice shot, Tark. Yes, it's a Wattlebird, alright. A Little Wattlebird to be precise.

Nothing wrong with this shot, Tark. I prefer subdued light rather than direct sunlight on the subject.

Gidday Tark, mate as I was telling Heva there were so many birds of prey down there I could not believe it and I did not get one shot, every time I saw a raptor there was either no where to pull over or I had a car sitting right on my a** so yeah mate not a happy camper I missed some very good photo oppurtunities :)
That's a shame, mate. I can imagine that once that rig gets rolling that you can't just pull over anywhere you see a bird shot and bring it to a skidding stop. What you really need is an onboard assistant(like me!) to take the pictures, right? ? :)

Thanks again Birdgirl, the chest feathers are interesting aren't they. I've been wondering what nature's purpose was in the evolution of that plumage. Perhaps it was simply to give camouflage in their habitat. I must remember to ask Charles when I get to heaven - or was he sent to hell for his Origin of the Species! LOL. ;-)
