Hi Smeedingo
Lovely images of Chestnut Teal pair.
.
As there have been a number of queries about Mallard IDs, elsewhere on this forum, I have suggested people check your images of Chestnut Teal. http://www.birdsinbackyards.net/forum/messages.cfm?threadid=E46238EE-F689-3B07-74E2D28754639354top
Apart from their small size, the white spot on the flanks is diagnostic of Chestnut Teal.
Great shots.
Denis

The top one brings back memories of something I drank too much of as a lad - I'm still recovering from the hangover. Nice shots dingo.
