To hell with rain!

After 11 weeks of this to hell with rain. If my friend the Little Wattlebird in the pine tree opposite wants to play, then so do I!

Lovely shot, Tark.
The sweeter, no doubt, for the conditions.
Meanwhile, the mainland (the "north Island" to you guys) is envious of the rain you are having.
Cheers
Denis

Thanks Denis, you made my day. Should be ashamed of myself for winjing when dams across Tasmania are brimming and the fields are lush.

Anyway, just got home with a wet butt and no birds from a two hour walk on Mt Wellington. Great exercise if nothing else.

Lol,good onya Tark thats the spirit.
Mate I would love to go trekkin through that country.
Your vegetation looks a lot more friendly than Guinea grass and spear grass.
I will have to get my but down there for a holiday.

I LOVE the close-up Tark. I wish you could send some rain our way - we are having showers, but need worth-while rain. Visiting the River Murray yesterday at Goolwa was heart-wrenching. The river is so low I couldn't get photos of birds as they have followed the waterline out to where the middle of the river used to be. Things are very, very bad, with the freshwater tortoises dying and the birds dis-appearing.

And - how did you get close enough with the flash?

C'mon down mate, Tassie's a great place to holiday - best in late summer and autumn, February to late April - let's know when you're coming, we'd be happy to show you around.

Y&es Lyn, the story of the Murray is a sad one - I remember the wildlife and the wonderful Coorong well. At one time I worked for the Flinders News and travelled a lot throughout SA's mid north that has a stark beauty all of its own.
