Found these birds at La Trobe Uni. today. My son was playing his last match for the season against La Trobe where there's lots of open space and a few lakes.
.
A very common Silver Gull.
.
.
Sorry, but it's another Red-rumped Parrot. They're my favourite parrot.
.
.
An Australian Darter against, what Tark calls, the white sky of death. :-)
.
.
Lastly, a couple of cute Red-browed Finches. Quite a large crop, so they're not too sharp.

Soakes - yes at the main campus. Just before you enter the campus, there's a road heading west that's signposted 'Western Entry' and this leads to the sports fields. There's quite a large lake and playing fields that surround it. To the NE of the main campus there's a forest reserve that I didn't get to on this occasion but will next time.

HI George
Nice shots is the white sky from cloud or bright sun.
Another nice set of pictures from you George - even the Darter against 'the white sky of death' ... ! LOL
.
The finches are the same as I shot at my daughter's place near Castlemaine - they had busted their way into a canary's cage to get at the feeder but had to be let out.
Regards, "Tark" - Olympus 4/3rds colour
Dingo - the white sky was due to low clouds.
.
Tark - thanks for the comments. My wife and I are heading to Castlemaine in a couple of weeks (23yrs married) to look for orchids and birds.
