I was out walking with my camera this morning after some heavy rain last night . there was a lot of activity around.
Thought you might like to share the beautiful shot of a blue faced hone eater on the Jacaranda - only 6 feet from me with a rich blue sky behind...
Or maybe the splendid colours of the Swamp hen in the morning sun in the reeds enjoying the newly filled creek ....
And the wood duck family nestled in an island in the stream/ drain...
Or maybe the really dazzling close up of the lorikeet on the red frangipani ( complete with beautiful blue sky behind)
...... I could go on but of course.... then I would have had to check the batteries in the camera before I left home wouldn't I? >'x
Just thought I'd share....
Cheers

Oh Birdie, I share your pain! For the past hour, there's been a Channel-billed Cuckoo flying past squawking. It's with crows, and of course I want to see whether it's being chased by them or accompanied / fed by them. Normally I bring my binoculars to work... not today, of course. I keep dashing out onto the balcony, muttering under my breath.
Maybe we should invent an emergency birding kit - a miniature camera that fits in your pocket, has a 300m zoom or a pair of fold away binos that maybe have a camera incorporated?
:)
I guess it is all lessons learned isn't it?!
cheers

I also share your pain - I had my battery die just before I had a clear shot of a pair of nankeen kestrels
Smae, there was an 'immature' Eastern Rosella wandering around the golf course with it's father and mother. My camera batteries always find the most inconvenient times to die. Oh, and did I metion that 3 weeks earlier there was a wood duck parent running around with 3 little baby ones to accompany it it in a line. But then I forgot my camera...
I think we've all done once or three times. I share your pain, too.

Well, at least this afternoon's shots made up for it. And the scenery was even more beautiful
