More of Noosa

After Noosaville we went for a walk round the headland to Tea Tree Bay.
Apart from a stunning beach and landscape it was teeming with Splendid Fairy Wrens!!!! :'D i couldn't believe it , they were everywhere but too fast for me and my poor eyesight. So this was my best effort there

A Lewins HE I think?

and if that wasn't enough even a Koala to boot!!

and a gull at Noosaville

Hi Birdie
.
I think it is the Variegated Fairy-wren.

Distribution map is right for that bird, not the Splendid F-w.
Also that species does not have the red/brown patch on back

Oh thanks Denis. I just assumed that is what it was. the females ( i think that is what they were) were very plain and just so hard to see in the thicket. They were brownish beige with a grey tail.

Nice shots Birdie. We didn't see the variegated FW nor the koalas. For speed, nothing matched the frustrating speed at which those Scarlet HEs moved. Thanks for sharing.

HI George

it was a totally superb day up here with a light breeze and not too hot. At tea Tree Bay I was feeling a little disappointed that i hadn't seen more birds on the way round the coastal walk. But then I realised I could hear some twittering so I ventured of the walking track into a clearing and just couldn't believe how many there were. trouble is, I use a diopter to shoot so I can see through the lens clearly, but to spot the birds I need my glasses, so it was like a circus act with me putting glasses on, lining up the lens then they flew or hid under a leaf! the females blended in so beautifully I had NO chance!!

The koala was right in the middle of the Glade where the wrens were..... unbelievable,

Queensland, ....beautiful one day.... perfect the next!
