Not much happening in the backyard at the moment - few babies about and some birds still nesting.
Baby Blackbird.
Father Blackbird keeping watch.
Bronzewing Pigeon. They are now nesting in the yard. Still haven't got the true colour on the wings - but still trying!
cool lyn, i have never seen a blackbird.. doh!
,
I think the sun has to hit the wings the right way to get the colour on the wing for the Common Bronzewing..

cheers,
steve
Nice shot of the Bronze Wing Lyn but I would discourage the blackbirds and encourage native sp if you can.

Love the pigeon, it looks so awesome! Nice photos.
Nice shots Lyn, love the Bronzewing.
HI Lyn
Nice shots there are the black birds native to Oz
Thanks guys - this post falls into the category of being bored stupid with nothing happening and having to post something!!
Yeah RIGHT Bushanwater - I would like to know how I can discourage these absolute PESTS of birds (Blackbirds) legally!
But we do have heaps of native species in the yard as well.
Smeedingo - Introduced species - from Europe around 1860's.
They have a lovely song BUT wreck havoc in the garden looking for worms and insects.
HI Lyn
Thanks
Fair con Lyn, that legally bit stops us sometimes.
