Latest from the Towncommon.
Brolga dancing.

Barking Owl, still happy to sit for all to see..

Black-fronted Dotterel on one of the very few puddles left. very dry, maybe driest for a few years and we could still have weeks before good rain.

Magpie, young bird was still following mum around.

Striated Pardalote (Black-headed Pardalote)Only see these guys once or twice a year on the Towncommon and then normally high in the trees, pleased to get this shot.

Hi Ed, great shots, the Brolgas remind me of those Masai warriors who jump really high as part of thier tribal dance. The barking owl is very relaxed around people isn't it, lovely shot. The striated pardalote I have never seen even though my book says they are all over Australia, beautiful bird.
Is the 'Towncommon' that a lot of you talk of just that? a towncommon.... like an oval?
Thanks for sharing .... wish I could send you some rain, we've had plenty the last 3 days!

Use what talents you possess; the woods would be very silent if no birds sang there except those that sang best
