This, sitting in the garden at work today, had flown into a window and was sitting at our front door, needed very little encouragment to climb onto an offered finger and sat quitely while I checked him out, he seemed OK so put him into one of the small trees and went of to find the works camera, fully expecting him to be gone, but no he sat quitely allowing very close approach. Very pleased to say he flew away strongly later.

Ed he is gorgeous. You are so lucky ( not lucky for him) that he was so quiet while he nursed his headache!
You must have a fairly good camera at work too. What kind of work are you in?
I have spent more time at home recently and with the wetter weather I have noticed many more birds in my garden vicinity than ever before. I'm starting to wonder whether they really are new to the garden or whether I am just more attuned to hearing and spotting them now than I was a year ago
Thanks for another lovely image

I've only ever seen three of these. They would have to be at, or near, the top of my list of favourites. You are a very lucky fellow indeed. I can only imagine how you must have felt to have him perched on your finger.
A great shot as well, very sharp.
Thanks, you've brightened up my day.
Good to see it survived, well done ed. Beautiful shot of a beautiful bird.

A sad way to come across one of these but a happy ending to the story. Nice sharp shot of him. I don't reckon you'll get as close to one of these again, ed. :-)
