The rain brought in a few of these fellas to school today so I thought I might share.
Hold on, let me test it, last time I tried my photo posting failed.
Cool birds Amateur. You did well to get close to them. When you resize make your image size 500pixels horizontaly and they should fit perfectly. Thanks for posting.
Hmm well it depends how far away from them you are but the long billed corellas have the red on the chest while little corellas don't. Luckily these guys were quite content eating and not squawking their heads off. Sorry, I have no clue how to resize...
Great shots Birdgirl.... how come it's always sunny and a blue sky at your place? It has been raining here for a week and the sky is very dark.
It is weird at the moment don't you think.... how quiet this forum has gone? Where on earth is everyone? Haven't even seen Tassie for weeks and he is always dropping in.
I went for a walk today and saw my Pale Headed rosellas again in the long grass nearby. The fact that a house has been built there doesn't seem to have deterred them much which is good. They have just moved to the grass nextdoor. it has all gone to seed and they love it.
Hi Birdie
It's not always blue here either - we get lots of days with grey skies and lots of glare. I didn't take any photos today because of the sky, even though we had lots of birds.
I was thinking the same thing - there used to be many posts every day. All the people I used to talk to most - Tassie, Raoul, Tark and some others don't seem to be here any more. I guess we all get busy with other things. Good to hear from you because you were here when I started, I think
HI ALL
I'm still here but will be away again for two weeks going back down to Cooma Trout fishing so hope to have some good bird photos from down south so hang in there all.
oh good, I can add my Little corellas from Noosa to this thread
and my long billed corella from Sherbrooke forest
and sneaking an I.D. in at the same time.... this was in with the long billed corellas and sulphur crested cockatoos at Sherbrooke...but it crest was small and Apricot (pale orange for all the guys out there lol) the crest seemed smaller too...is it just an immmature sc cockatoo? what you think?
Use what talents you possess; the woods would be very silent if no birds sang there except those that sang best

Hev - I love your unusual bird. Maybe it has bred with another parrot. I have read that some of the white cockatoos interbreed, but I'm not sure about other parrots
I had the best visitors yesterday - I heard a soft wailing and ran (quietly) outside - there was a yellow-tailed black-cockatoo on our bird feeder. Then my daughter spotted its mate on the stick attached to our galah box. They were in the yard for 5 -10 mins, but I didn't move to get the camera because I didn't want to miss a second of looking at them and the light was poor anyway
At least it works...
I hope these ones aren't to badly sized.

Hi Birdie
We get both in our backyard ... lucky us! They aren't noisy - they have a nice hooting call

I can't say, but the parrots and galahs and cockatoos really do basically eat with their left claw don't they!
