and these from our camping trip to Bright, finally managed to get some of Bowerbirds, they were eating the fruit in an orchard off the walking track we were on..... so off I trek...stalking them... along comes the farmer on his ride-on mower...yelling across the orchard..my sister disappears (thanks for the support sis!) but it was ok ...he was yelling "are you looking for ripe ones?" he thought I was picking his apples and was directing me to the ripe ones! when I said I was taking pictures of Bowerbirds he laughed and said I could take them with me as they ate all his apples and grapes.... "watch out for snakes in that long grass, theres lots of tigers and browns around at the moment". oh great...I jumped loudly off his property!

whipbird
Use what talents you possess; the woods would be very silent if no birds sang there except those that sang best
It's cool you got a picture of the whipbird. I find it so difficult to get photos of them because they seem so shy. My only photo of the whipbird is really blurry! I relly like your Red-browed Finch photo :)
Good stuff Hev. Don't worry about the snakes but. they only have two long teeth, and they're hollow.

yes,.... it's what's in those hollow teeth that concerns me!

LMAO ..... again Hev. you really should write a book of short stories, you'd be great at it you know!!
Wasn't he a clever farmer to be nice to you and hospitable and get rid of you all in one sentence - without you even knowing his tactics!!!
I am very green over the bowerbird shots and the b~!@#$%
whipbird! They are all around me and yet I rarely see one close enough to look at let alone get it to sit long enough for a hot!!
I'll just check out this mornings stuff and see if there is anything worth posting.... I am still drying out.

Nice shots, Hev. Really like the R-b F; they're so cute. Didn't know we got Bowerbirds in that part of Vic. Thanks for sharing.

Some beautiful photos there, however it seems my bird luck appears to be changing with 2 BoP in the area, one is a white goshawk and the other mihg the a grey goshawk? Just a quick question, would a white goshawk and grey goshawk associate?
