This beauty turned up yesterday - it seemed to be following the lorikeets - safety in numbers i guess
Sorry about the quality of the last one but it was getting dark but i think a so so photo is better than no photo

Wow, it's a beautiful; bird, I love the beak on it!
Looks like a female ALEXANDRINE parrot ( native to Northern India )has escaped from an aviary .

Oh yes, lol, definetely not a red-winged parrot now I look in my Field Guide, Narly is probably right, lol, now that I think about it I had never seen a bird like that in my field guide with that kind of beak, still a nice shot of a nice bird though.
I think your right Narly I got it wrong - similar markings but the wrong size beak,tail and bird :P - i guess i was just so excited to have seen it. Now i know why it reminded me so much of McCaw
