Lovely shot, Anja.
Are the kites nesting at the moment?
My wife & I will be staying at the Gagudju Crocodile Holiday Inn Jabiru for 2 nights from June 24.
Maybe we'll be lucky to see the nest "out the back";-)
Cheers,

Hi Al,
they have been nesting there for a while now...
I couldn't tell you though when they actually started.

On a walk around the lake you'll be able to spot the nest near the dam, not far from the houses closest to it. =)

I didn't know they nested now - I must have a look at the nests near us - maybe ours will be nesting too

hi all, I'm also planning a trip to Jabiru in August, and have booked a yellow water boat trip on the billabongs which I'm told should have lots of birdlife that time of year due to the limited water in the billabongs. Staying in Cooinda,Katherine and darwin.Hoping to spot a Jabiru bird and other 'firsts' for me. Looks like a great area you live Anja.

Use what talents you possess; the woods would be very silent if no birds sang there except those that sang best

Nice shot Anja

A Photo is only as good as the eyes that look at it.

Same nest, same birds.
We enjoyed our stay in Jabiru.
Saw lots of birds on our walk around the lake.
Thanks again Anja.
Cheers,
al
