Went on an excursion to Maquarie Uni, I was so happy I brought my camera when I saw it had a water feature. But not too happy when my batteries died when I saw some Hoary Headed Grebes (I think), a first for me :)
Not the prettiest of birds, but they certainly enjoyed chasing us
Goose
Magpie Lark
And again
Juvenile Sacred Ibis
And I managed to get a few snaps of the Grebes, poor quality but I hope it's good enough for a confirmation of ID
One more thing, I found this today, I believe it is a turtle spotted dove egg, any ideas on the puncture marks? I am thinking a cat because of the positions of the holes (how cats have 2 fangs and then rows of smaller teeth). Any help or ID corrections happily accepted :D

Hey Amateur, what a shame about your camera batteries! I love the Purple Swamphen, the colours on them are great. I agree not the prettiest looking bird though. Great shots.
A good set Amateur well taken.
A Photo is only as good as the eyes that look at it.
Good set of photos. The purple came up really well. I don't know about the egg but it certainly is an interesting pattern of holes
