Great shot Wampy, we are at Cranbourne gardens quite often but have never had the pleasure of seeing this cute little thing. Were you in the Australian Garden section or the other side?
I always go to the stringybark picnic area and head towards the wetlands. The largest variety of small birds can be found in this area, as well as waterbirds and birds of prey. Watch out for wallabies, koalas and echidnas.
If you can find your way to the cyclone fence border behind the toilets, there is a dead tree outside the fence which always has a black shouldered kite or two (I saw 4 the other day as well as a pair of wedgies and a brown falcon).
Thanks for that Wampy. We have almost walked around the border but havent quite made it round yet. We have seen wallabies, echidnas and bandicoots. Also have seen four wedge tail eagles and a variety of smaller birds. We tend to go in all directions just depends on our mood at the time. Might head down towards that dead tree though. We normally park at the Australian Gardens and walk in that way. Might be time for a change.
