Edithvale Wetlands

The sun came out for a brief time today and I was able to grab a few pictures at the Edithvale wetlands. Plenty of Black Swans with cygnets, Chestnut Teals, and just the one Magpie Goose which wasn't too shy.

Great photos! I went to the Hunter Wetlands Centre last week and also saw many magpie geese and 2 swans with cygnets

The 2nd photo is a beauty, we saw some with cygnets down in Vic and they are the cutest! Looks like a nice wetland to have nearby.

Hi Sparrow,

It's not unusual for the odd magpie goose to turn up at edithvale, I've seen photos of them before but this is the first one that I have actually seen in that location. The hide was closed but all of the birds with chicks were hanging out just by the viewing platform. I'm going there again today to see if anything else unusual turns up.

Hi Wampy i was at edithvale today myself and saw the closed till further notice sign, someone had written some (UNKIND) messages for the ranger on it.
You seem to be in the right place at the right time a lot.
I finally got photos of the wedge tail in the same place i had been looking but only after i asked you,now it's there every time i go.
maybe i should ask you more often and save time and a lot of walking.
Cheers sparrow

Hi Sparrow,

The walking is half the fun, you never know what you might stumble across.
