Restless Flycatcher

I think these birds have a great sound.

Hi Perthwings, yes they are very much like a Willy wagtail and the sound is a real giveaway. They are very quick and do not sit still long for photos.

Well done Wanda, a lot of people mistake these for willy wagtails. I think this is the first photo of one of these I have seen on this forum. I have been trying for yonks to get one myself. You are right about the noise they make, it is unique. Ray

Thanks Ray. Oh to join someone so famous as you Perthwings. Thank you, what an honour! :-)

They are a cute little bird with those zipping "wet fart" calls - as I compare them. :)

There is a pair near Richmond in NW Sydney that just raised four chicks. They fledged about late last week and I got to say good bye as I photographed them before departure into the big blue.......sky.....

I would not dare get carried away. I understand that I have not found a new species like you Perthwings. I am just happy for the title which you have bestowed upon me. Ha ha :-)

Ha ha Windhover that is a different way of explaining their call. I sort of thought more like a grinding sound. How lucky for you to see the whole family.
