Baby Pale Headed rosellas

While waiting for the baby Catbird to come and take some mango this morning , I heard two Koels at the front gate somewhere so went to investigate.... and as luck would have it .... this is what I found instead!

Now I have solved my mystery of the little blue bird bathing in the creek a few days ago.

they were just gorgeous :)

These are just beautiful birdie. I have never seen pics of the babies before. You are so lucky to see them feeding. Their little red caps are cute. It's interesting that the young have the yellow beak too

Thanks I wanted to get closer, but I was so worried that they may fly away that I just snapped what I could!
Funny thing was Mum ( or Dad I guess) flew first leaving the two little ones to decide for themselves!
Wanda I posted a few shots of pelicans somewhere earlier in the year of the pelicans fishing.

Thanks guys. I have been trying to find their nesting zone for weeks as I have heard and seen them chirruping away in the distance and today it was sheer good luck that the Koels called with their kek kek call at the front of the house ... sending me streaking round there and having to decide to leave the catbirds to hoist the mango while I was gone LOL. This was about 5.30 this morning and I have decided it is far better to be awake and seeing the action than to lie in bed and wonder. I returned to the back garden to see the remaining mango disappearing down the catbird's throat but I did get a few shots of the parent eating. Baby was very shy today so maybe tomorrow.... my new alarm clocks :')
@ Tassie..... you know what I am always saying .... feel free to drop by this end of Qld any time and I will share this with you LOL

Birdie it's a wonder you get any sleep at all! If you were out at night lookind for owls you never would!!
Tassie I haven't heard from you for so long and haven't seen any of your pics for even longer. Any chance of a few? Maybe you'd better take up birdie on her offer and snap a few spangled drongos and catbirds ... and the rosellas of course

LOL Birdgirl..... I get sleep don't worry, but if you can sleep through the dawn chorus around my place you are doing pretty well!! The persistent "miaooouw" of the catbird and the unbelievably noisy Spangled Drongos are just a part of it! First cab off the rank this morning at 4.05am was the Figbird and they go for an hour or two. Then we have the extremely annoying cucaw cucaw of some dove that I haven't a clue about..... and it never shuts up. Throw in a few dozen Lorikeets, noisy miners and Butcherbirds and this morning there was a couple of Channel Bill flyovers .... are you starting to get the picture???? Not to mention the Koels of course..... :')
Tassie has heaps of birds up his way that he can shoot ... haven't you Tassie? He's just being slack.... or maybe he is just a workaholic??? LMAO
