Hi all, hope this makes sense because I am flat out with a tummy bug.
A couple of days ago I did an interview for news.com.au on Channel-billed Cuckoos and the journalist is after high-res photos for the video. If anyone has any that they would like news.com.au to use for this article (with acknowledgment etc) then could you please email me:
Cheers
Holly
Sorry to hear that you are not well Holly, hope you are better soon! Funny thing is I got my first ever pic of a CBC today, but not good enough for what you want though. Amazing looking bird.... I was ecstatic!

Hope you are feeling better soon too! Sorry, I got nothing, :(
i also have a some channell bils if these would be any good here is pics of them
Thanks to everyone who offered photos - much appreciated.
I have sent a couple off to the journalist and I will let you all know when the video appears online (promise not to laugh at me!)
Thanks all for the well wishes too - the stomach flu is still hanging around but hopefully will be gone soon. There is too much to do at this end of the year to get so sick!

Hope you feel better soon Holly.
Hi guys - just noticed that the video is up - eeekkkk!
I haven't got a link yet but it is on the home page of news.com.au
LOL! I can see there is a video but I cannot play it from work. :(
I am sure you are fine Holly, we may need to think about nominating you for an academy award? :)
Woohoo Holly you did well! Glad to see you are well again and to put a face to the name :) Love the eery music in the beginning and Ed's pics were great.
I was wondering though when they said they migrated North to New Guinea for the winter..... I thought it was the other way round and they migrated here from New Guinea for the summers here?
Which ever way it is I am so happy that I saw one up close in the bush and also got to see a close up flyover between the CBC and a crow. It is the most impressive looking bird I have seen yet and I actually love their terrible call ... guaranteed to get me moving LOL

Thanks guys :)
Birdie I guess whether they migrate from there to here or here to there they still migrate :) They migrate here to breed and then migrate to New Guinea to winter. I guess it is a bit of 'chicken or the egg'...
Its good to see you Holly, and good to see birds in the news.
Perhaps you will become one of the regular commentators on eco-stories in the media a-la tim flannery et al. You will have to hone your self promotion skills.
I must be getting mixed up with immigration! LOL
Anyway I just love them ... and their noisy mating habits
