HI Cath n Shane.... glad to see someone still has a few birds around! they are very pretty aren't they? Used to get them in NZ. I am afraid our birds are just too water logged to photograph at the moment....I did get a few shots of the now growing baby catbird yesterday but apart from that they all look weather beaten and like they are having a permanent bad hair day! I have been listening to what I think is a Koel chick calling it's head off since dawn but no sign of it... must be high up in the fig birds nest and way to wet for me to venture near!!!

Hi Cath and Shane, wow, I haven't seen any of those around my place. All our birds seem to have left us, the shrubs don't have anymore flowers left, the birds must have decided to go and find a better restaurant, just as we would if our favourite one would run out of food! Well, that's how nature works. Birdie, did you get flooded where you live? Hope you are fine!?

Thanks Araminta but we are fine here on the Sunshine Coast (though that name is turning into joke that is for sure)Those that are in the north and the west of our state however are not doing so well. it is absolutely unbelievable to think of the magnitude of the disaster around the Emerald, Rockhampton and Bundaberg areas and all in between. What we saw when we were on holiday up there a few weeks ago was just the tip of the iceberg and obviously we were very lucky to get that time to enjoy it before this onslaught. Next time Tassie gets on here ask him about it as he has seen it all first hand I bet after driving through the areas.

My thoughts are definitely with all those affected.

Hi Birdie, glad to hear you are not affected. Hopefully Tassie isn't stranded somewhere up there.

Hi Araminta, these guys only came in for a tub and a drink, don't think they like our nectar shrubs. They came back again yesterday with three babies this time, pretty exciting for us.
