Didn't have my camera with me to catch his expression as I dragged him through the bush on a hot day but I thought this kind of says it all from a birder's dog perspective!!

Yep Birdie, he looks totally overwhelmed with excitement lol
Birdie, how drunk was the dog when you put the hat on his ear? Is that the same dog, that had to spit the little bird out? (do you remember?)That dog eats bird incident. We witnessed - bird eats dog- the other day. This woman had left a little dog in her car on a hot day. We were watching an indoor horse event. Suddenly we heard a lot of screaming outside, and a girl running, pointing to the sky. What had happened, the girl thought the dog must be hot in the car, opened the door to let the dog, a little ratlike dog. That must have been exactly what the Eagle thought, one dive down, one grab, and off, up up, and away! But the eagle didn't spit it out...needless to say the dog was never seen again. (IT's a true story, no I wasn't drunk)

LOL thanks guys...... just LOVE the Eagle story !!! I have often thought that could happen when I see the little rat like things running free on the dog beaches when the BOP are cruising!!! Too funny... as you can tell I am not a little dog lover :)
Yes Araminta that is the same dog as the baby bird incident!
He was just too hot today and I lost my sunglasses somewhere on our walk and we had to go back and retrace our steps . Not that it did any good as they didn't show but he was so weary by that time and we still had a fair walk home. Only had the phone with me so I snapped a few off of him and me looking hot and sweaty in the heat! The sounds in that part of the forest were well worth it though,, with wrens, golden whistlers, thornbills, Lewins, parrots, dollar birds, fantails and many more singing to us.
