Eastern rosellas bathing and sacred kingfishers

On my walk this morning I was lucky enough to see something I have never seen before - eastern rosellas bathing. The shots aren't great - the birds were in a pond surrounded by casuarinas so I had to use 800 and 400 asa, I was up on a bank about 2 m higher than they were and there were some reedy plants between me and them and I was afraid to move in case I scared them. I was creeping around the pond trying to get a photo of a kingfisher I spotted. When I got the photos home, I saw that I had two different ones - I think they are both sacred kingfishers and the one with the buff breast is the male and the one with the white breast is the female

Hi birdie glad to see you. I was beginning to think I was the only one home!
I was thrilled to see them bathe - I've never seen them bathe in the birdbath. Can you see he's put his face under the water

Ha ha ... I feel like that all the time. I am still here just haven't got anything good to post. I am trying to learn photoshop at home and I find it very time consuming and tiring to be concentrating like that!!
