I took my camera on my morning walk again to look for the grey-crowned babblers. I was daydreaming when I realised the 3 were on a fence right in front of me. I got out my camera and when I looked up they were totally and utterly gone. All the dogs on the other side of the fence started barking at me because I had my dog. I wandered around looking into all of the trees and noticed a figbird, which I have never seen there before. Then I saw a whole group of females and one male. I also saw a dollarbird. I used to think the park only had waterbirds, parrots, noisy miners and Indian mynas but it has so much more

Female figbird and dollarbird
Nice photos Birdgirl2009. And good work with the second photo focusing on the bird rather than the branches in front of it. :)
I was born to live and I live to die.
I saw these on FLickr and commented but you probably wouldn't have found that! LOL
Great shots Birdgirl and I love the Blues in the Dollarbird. Was that Figbird about to feed anything or just itself???

abeleski - birds are very hard to focus on in casuarinas. Those 'needles' are always in the way.
birdie - no I didn't notice when I uploaded today. But I've read them now! The figbird ate it herself - she was lucky - most of the fruits in the photo are still very green
