Sitting with my sister birdwatching in Yarumba Vic, we spotted a kingfisher in a tree, we were trying to decide what sort of Kingfisher he was...after a few minutes he flew to a branch right in front of us, posed, then flew off again as if to say isn't it OBVIOUS? I'm a Sacred Kingfisher.
Lying on my tummy on the banks of Nagambie lake-taking photos of turtles...a pair of Red-Rumped parrots flew down for a quick drink.

nah that was my sis saying that (as she stood behind me with the bird book!)
There was a little island close to the caravan park which had heaps of spoonbills, ibis and even a pair of Nankeen night herons, it was just that bit too far to get photos but we sat for ages watching them feed thier young, preen, squabble and fish. Saw this one in floodwater in a field
Use what talents you possess; the woods would be very silent if no birds sang there except those that sang best
...and this Eastern spinebill visits every day outside my study window:)

Lovely Hev and you are lucky to have them. maybe you could give us a habitat shot of your garden seeing as it is so attractive to birds?
Hope they don't take a liking to your vege garden !

oh no I'd be way too embarassed birdie!! the little purple flowers you see are the sum total of 'colour' in my garden and I think even they are a weed! So far so good with the vegies, though am pretty quick at picking the strawberries and tomatoes:)
