Scarlet Robin
Owen, that photo is FANTASTIC ! (I saw one in my garden today, it did not sit still for me )I love those tiny round, black eyes, they are so beautiful. I was worried for a bit, they wouldn't turn up this year at my place. Where do they go during summer? They always return(?) about this time . Any idea, where they have been?

thanx araminta. they are such pretty little birds. this one was for once sitting still and out in the open. i have had many cracks at them in the past but the pics were either too far away or blurred.
i haven't got the slightest idea where they head off to.
i do know that flame robins go up in the mountains in summer and down on the lowlands in winter - don't know wether this is the case with scarlet robins.
Cheers, Owen.
Nice shot mate.....love it.
Wow Tassie, one giant bull bar!!

thanx birdie.

Nice one, Owen. Its fiery-red breast really gives a nice constrast to the grey background. Lovely shot, beautifully composed.
Taz
thanks taz. I've never got a shot of a robin like that before so I was really pleased.
Cheers, Owen.
What a beautiful looking bird and photo. I must live on an island by myself, I never see half of these birds like all you guys do.
Tanks Kimbolina. sometimes you do have to go looking for the birds, they can seem to disappear at times.
Cheers, Owen.
What a beautiful little bird. Good find and photo
